Electrify Boroondara AllianceImproving energy efficiency of Boroondara households

Funding is requested to engage, encourage and support the Boroondara community to improve the energy efficiency of their homes and climate change resilience as well as reduce their carbon emissions and energy costs. 
The key steps of the project are to:

  • provide the knowledge to assess home energy efficiency opportunities
  • increase awareness of electrification opportunities, including rooftop PV and getting off gas
  • workshop practical and low-cost activities to improve home comfort and energy efficiency.

Grant funds will be used to:

  • engage expert assistance and knowledge to develop the referral system suited for EBA to manage collection of relevant information for residents and other users.
  • it will include capability for EBA to evaluate suitable electrification suppliers servicing Boroondara.
  • promoting the program to the community using traditional and social media, launch and support events.

Lighter Footprints IncPurchase EquipmentFunding is sought for the purchase of equipment to enable us to expand the reach of Lighter Footprints public meetings to a wider Boroondara audience including those who are unable to attend due to illness, infirmity, disability, age or family commitments. This equipment will enable us to run 'hybrid events', being live in-person events which can also be shared online via Facebook Live and Zoom.$2,677.22
Kooyongkoot AlliancePollinator Pathways: building climate resilience into our streets

The project will support the 1st Glen Iris Scouts Rover Unit to further develop their volunteering skills and deliver service to the community. 

This encourages participation in restoring biodiversity. The project stimulates conversation, encouraging neighbours to talk to each other and collectively revegetate local streets.
