Our Community Arts Venue Grants offer in-kind usage of high-quality performance spaces and function rooms at Hawthorn Arts Centre and Kew Court House.

Read the Community Arts Venue Grant Guidelines for eligibility criteria, and more information about the grant application process.

Successful applicants can receive limited funding for venue hire and staffing for:

  • performances and art exhibitions
  • community functions
  • conferences and meetings
  • seminars, presentations, training sessions and workshops
  • large-scale displays and trade exhibitions.

We administer the grant as an annual program with proposed dates to hold events specified throughout the financial year. Applicants can apply for a maximum of 2 Community Arts Venue Grants in a 24-month period.

Applications for events delivered between 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025 at Hawthorn Arts Centre and Kew Court House are accepted throughout the year.

We encourage members of the Boroondara community who meet the eligibility criteria to apply.

Applications close Sunday 18 May 2025.

Applications will only be accepted for the 2024–2025 financial year. We will not accept applications for any other period.
