Measure the antenna or aerial

Attached to a roof

Measure the height of your antenna or aerial from its highest point of attachment to the roof. 

If the antenna or aerial is more than 3 m above the highest point of the building, you must get:

  • a Building Permit and 
  • a Report and Consent from Council. 

Freestanding 

Measure the height of your freestanding antenna or aerial from the natural ground level.

If the antenna or aerial is more than 8 m above the natural ground level, you must get:

  • a Building Permit and
  • a Report and Consent from Council.

Do you need to apply to Council for Report and Consent? 

You can begin construction:

  • after all your permits or permissions have been issued
  • if your situation does not require any permits or permissions.
