Schools in Boroondara can apply to participate in the Student Environmental Leadership Program.
Delivered by an educator from CERES and fully funded by us, this program is designed to increase students’ knowledge of the sustainability issues we face locally and globally, and to provide the skills and knowledge required to plan achievable goals for short- and long-term change.
CERES is an environmental education centre, community garden, urban farm and social enterprise hub in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. Find out more on the CERES website.
Program details
This program consists of one 4-hour session (plus breaks) delivered at your school. It caters to one group of up to 30 students in Years 3 to 6, or Years 7 to 10.
In the program, students will:
- participate in leadership training
- develop problem solving skills
- develop research skills
- complete an energy, water, biodiversity or waste audit.
