Library members can borrow as many items as they like from our collection, which is the largest lending collection of all public libraries in Victoria.
The standard loan period is 3 weeks. You can renew or extend a loan 3 times as long as no one else has reserved it. Find out more about renewing.

Select your items and borrow them at the self-serve kiosks or the customer service desk.
Download or stream eresources
Library members can stream or download a variety of online resources including movies, music, online learning tools, newspapers and magazines, journals and articles, family history and children's content including books and films.

Borrow the Most Wanted books
Our Most Wanted collection is a changing selection of recent fiction and non-fiction releases, award winners, best sellers and popular books.
All Boroondara libraries have a Most Wanted display stand with a selection of titles for immediate loan.
These are available for one-week loans, with no renewals or reservations.
You may only borrow 2 Most Wanted titles at a time.

Items for use in the library only include:
- printed newspapers and magazines
- dictionaries, atlases and street directories
- restricted local history collections.
