The Municipal Wide Heritage Gap Study (MWHGS) was a proactive work program to identify and protect valued heritage properties.
Commenced in 2016, the MWHGS assessed the following suburbs:

- Ashburton - Amendment C337boro - gazetted 30 June 2022
- Glen Iris - Amendment C333boro Part 2 - gazetted 12 September 2022
