About us

The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre (BVRC) provides a range of free support services to local, volunteer-involving organisations.

To access these support services, you must become a member.

Becoming a BVRC member allows you to: 

  • promote volunteer roles on our online Volunteer Portal
  • connect with skilled professionals registered on our Skills Bank
  • access tip sheets, templates and resources
  • attend capacity-building workshops and events
  • participate in network meetings with other volunteer leaders
  • list your organisation on our community organisation directory.

Boroondara Volunteer Skills Bank

The Boroondara Volunteer Skills Bank connects community organisations who need short-term or flexible support with professionals who have the skills to provide that support.

More than 800 skilled professionals are registered with the Skills Bank and can be reached via the member portal.

These people offer a meaningful opportunity to contribute to your organisation in numerous ways – it could be helping with your organisation’s website, marketing or IT or they might fill a board or committee position.

Professional development

The BVRC runs free workshops for volunteer leaders and is an endorsed partner for Volunteering Victoria’s Continuous Development Program. Program participants can achieve ‘points’ for participating in our recognised professional development activities.

Boroondara Volunteer Expo 2025 – save the date

The Boroondara Volunteer Expo is your opportunity to promote volunteer roles within your organisation and connect with hundreds of potential volunteers. Expressions of interest to attend will open in December 2024.

When: Wednesday 19 March 2025, 1 pm to 6 pm
Where: Hawthorn Arts Centre, 360 Burwood Road, Hawthorn

Volunteer Leader Network (VLN) meetings

Our network meetings are held every 2 months. We bring volunteer leaders of community organisations together to:

  • share your experiences
  • learn from others
  • explore ideas which you can introduce in your volunteer program
  • hear from leading experts across our sector.

Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is located at the Council office at 8 Inglesby Road, Camberwell.

We are open 3 days a week (from 8:30 am to 5:15 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays) and deliver services remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
