Reception opening hours
The reception counter at the Canterbury Community Precinct is open weekdays (Monday to Friday) from 9 am to 4 pm. Reception is closed on public holidays.

Community services
Canterbury Neighbourhood Centre is a neighbourhood centre that offers a wide range of programs and activities for community members of all ages and abilities. Find out more on the Canterbury Neighbourhood Centre website.
Children and education services
The following children and education services are available at the Canterbury Community Precinct:
- Canterbury Gardens Kindergarten - a kindergarten running a 3 and 4-year-old kindergarten program. Find out more on our Canterbury Gardens Kindergarten page.
- Playstation occasional care - providing care for children from 6 weeks to 5 years old. Find out more on the Playstation occasional care website.
- Canterbury Toy Library - become a member to borrow toys, games and more from their diverse collection. Find out more on the Canterbury Toy Library website.
Health services
- Our Canterbury Maternal and Child Health service provides free health and development checks, and information for new parents on health topics for children from birth to school ages. Find out more about this service on our Maternal and Child Health service page.
- Multicap – a dedicated disability services provider that works with people from all walks of life, offering an extensive range of support to help people live the life they want. Find out more on the Multicap website.
Historical societies
- Canterbury History Group – collects and preserves the history and heritage of Canterbury and promotes it in the community. Find out more on the Canterbury History Group website.
- Surrey Hills Historical Society – collects and preserves the history and heritage of Surrey Hills and Mont Albert and promotes it in the community. Find out more on the Surrey Hills Historical Society website.
Both groups operate from the Maling Heritage Centre, which is part of the Canterbury Community Precinct. The building is located at 190 Canterbury Road, Canterbury.

Getting here
The main building of the Canterbury Community Precinct is a short walk from Canterbury Station, through Canterbury Gardens. It is also close to the Canterbury Road and Rochester Road bus stop, on bus route 285.
Underground and ground level parking is available on Kendall Street for easy access to the main building. There is also additional parking nearby at the Maling Road shops.

Stage 2 re-development
The Canterbury Community Precinct project includes a second stage, which includes refurbishments of the following existing buildings located near Canterbury Road:
- Canterbury Maternal and Child Health Centre
- Former Canterbury Public Library.
The groups who will move into these spaces include:
- Multicap
- Canterbury History Group
- Surrey Hills Historical Society.
