Plant a tree for our canopy

Get planting this spring with our tree workshop and recommended species list.

This spring we’re encouraging residents to pick up a shovel and plant trees on their property to add to our tree canopy cover.

Spring is the perfect time to plant, as this gives trees a chance to establish roots before the summer heat.

Increasing canopy cover is a key part of our Climate Acton Plan. Trees clean the air we breathe, absorb carbon-dioxide and release oxygen, cool our homes and gardens in summer and create habitat for wildlife. They are also central to the unique character and heritage of Boroondara and improve the liveability of our neighbourhoods.
