Household energy: maximising the ins and outs

With Melbourne renowned for having 4 seasons in a day, it’s no surprise around 40% of household energy is used for heating and cooling.

The good news is you can cut your power bills by making small changes to your home’s thermal performance, so it’s naturally warmer in winter and cooler in summer.

You can do this by:

  • sealing gaps around your windows, doors, vents and skirting, or using a ‘door snake’ for internal doors
  • chatting to an expert about topping up or upgrading your insulation – especially if it’s old, compressed, low-rating or you don’t have ceiling insulation
  • investing in double-glazed windows, which can prevent up to 30% of heat loss compared with standard windows.

We’ll show you how

Join our free online webinar from 7 pm to 8:30 pm on Wednesday 13 September, to learn practical ways to make your home more energy efficient.
