Celebrating International Day of People with Disability

To help mark International Day of People with Disability on 3 December, you’re invited to join events that celebrate people with disability, including a Q&A with Stefan Farina and Sarah Gibson from QArt Gallery, at 11 am on 6 December. For more information and to register, visit our Celebrating International Day of People with Disability 2023 page.

You can also get involved any time in disability-inclusive sports at Ashburton Pool and Recreation Centre, Hawthorn Aquatic and Leisure Centre and Boroondara Sports Complex. The Boroondara Disability Sport and Recreation Hub helps connect people with disability to activities including gymnastics, wheelchair-accessible AFL and Auskick programs, dance classes and swimming. If you’d like to get involved, visit the Disability Sport and Recreation Hub website to find out more.

We’re committed to making sure the City of Boroondara is an inclusive and accessible place for people with disability. We recently shared our draft Disability Access and Inclusion Plan 2024–28 with the community for final comment. It was developed through extensive consultation and is being finalised for adoption later this year. Find out more on our Disability Access and Inclusion Plan page on Engage Boroondara.
