Get your relocatable pool ready for summer

Do you have a relocatable pool in your backyard? Did you know even inflatable pools may require a safety barrier and to be registered with Council?

Although they’re small, relocatable pools are still a drowning hazard for young children. Here are 3 tips to help prepare for backyard pool days:

  1. If your pool can hold 30cm of water or more, it needs to have a compliant relocatable safety barrier installed at all times.
  2. If your pool has been erected for 3 days in a row, it needs to be registered with us on the 4th day.
  3. If your pool has been erected for more than 30 days after registration, the barrier must be inspected and certified by a registered building inspector or building surveyor and a copy of the certificate lodged with Council.

To stop children reaching a pool, owners or occupiers must maintain compliant safety barriers, ensuring climbable objects are kept away from barriers and gates are not propped open.
