Our children's programs and events provide an entertaining and enriching experience for kids, while helping to develop their early literacy and language skills.

Please note: Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult at the library.

Sing Baby Sing – 0 to 12 months

A weekly event of songs and rhymes for you and your baby and an opportunity to meet other parents and carers.

Please note: Sing Baby Sing sessions don't run during school holidays.

Tiny Tots – 1 to 3 years

An introduction to stories, songs and rhymes to help develop early literacy skills and a fun space for young children to socialise and interact with peers. 

Please note: Tiny tots sessions don't run during school holidays.

Storytime – 3 to 5 years

Stories, songs and activities to help build early literacy, introduce the world of storytelling and grow a love of reading in young children. 

Please note: Storytime sessions don't run during school holidays.

Multilingual Storytime

Please note: Multilingual and online Storytime sessions don't run during school holidays.

Chinese Storytime – 0 to 5 years

Join in for stories and songs in Mandarin and English. 

STEAM Club for Kids

Join the library for a creative hour of science, technology, engineering, arts and maths.

Ashburton: First Monday of each month from 4 pm to 5 pm. View the Ashburton STEAM Club for Kids event page.

School holiday programs

Story Box Library

Watch over 480 Australian stories read by some of our finest storytellers on the Story Box Library website. Suitable for preschool and primary children.

The Story Box Library website is not run by Boroondara Library Service, but is free to use with your library card. Go to the Story Box Library website and log in using your library membership number.
