Are you looking to build beats? Do you have a keen eye for photo and video editing? Are you a young performer aged between 10 and 25 and live, work or study in Boroondara? You can book our fully sound-proofed and air-conditioned studio and rehearsal space at the Boroondara Youth Hub. 

The studio is at the Boroondara Youth Hub on Level 1, 360 Burwood Road, Hawthorn. Visit our Youth Hub page for more information on how to get here.

You must have a studio membership to use the studio. 

Membership is free and gives you:

  • use of the studio and equipment up to twice a week 
  • opportunities to perform through local music programs, such as Solar Productions. 

Membership needs to be renewed at the start of each year.

Studio members have access to a full backline for all bookings, including:

Amplifiers

  • Peavey KB3
  • Peavey bass amp
  • Peavey 6505 head and speaker
  • Orange tiny terror guitar amp.

Microphones

  • Shure SM58
  • Audio Technical MB3000-L microphone
  • Audio Technical microphone ATR 2100.

Instruments

  • djembe
  • Mapex drum kit
  • Kabasa
  • Roland GW-7 workstation keyboard and stand
  • Epiphone bass guitar (2 available)
  • Epiphone Special SG guitar
  • Yamaha acoustic guitar.

Book the studio

The studio is available from Monday to Friday, from 12 pm (midday) to 5:30 pm. During school holidays, the space is available from Monday to Friday, 10 am to 5:30 pm.

Members can book the studio for up to 2 hours twice a week. Bookings need to be made at least 24 hours in advance.

Studio induction for new members

All new Studio members are required to complete a short induction to learn equipment basics before using the studio. You'll also need to complete an induction form, which requires a parent/guardian signature if you are under 18. You will not be able to book the Studio until this form is signed.  

We'll contact you to schedule an induction after we receive your membership application.
