The Victorian Seniors Festival takes place in October, with events happening across the state. Here in Boroondara, there’s lots on for older adults to enjoy as part of recognising and celebrating our local seniors.
Open day events and ‘Come and Try’ sessions are being organised by seniors’ clubs, sports clubs and community centres throughout Boroondara.

Boroondara Seniors Film Festival
Welcome to the Boroondara Seniors Film Festival 2024!

Now in its third year, bringing stories that inspire, challenge and connect us through the magic of film. Each screening showcases a feature film and a curated selection of short films from around the world – all featuring the wonderful diversity of older adults’ lives.
All screenings are free to attend but bookings are essential.
These events are very popular and are likely to book out. If you make a booking and then can no longer attend, please let us know as soon as possible using our booking cancellation form.

Free shuttle bus to the Lido Cinemas
To provide easier parking options for Boroondara Seniors Film Festival screenings at the Lido Cinemas, we are introducing a new free shuttle bus service.
Car park location
143 Robinson Road, Hawthorn (located behind the former Melbourne Uni site on Auburn Road).
Shuttle operating times
This service will run from 9:15 am, with the last bus leaving the cinema area at approximately 3 pm.
No booking is needed for this service – just arrive at the car park on the day.
Please allow at least 30 minutes prior to your film start time for the shuttle service to take you from the car park to the cinema.
If you would like to stay in the cinema area for coffee or lunch after the film, you are welcome to take a later shuttle bus back to your car. The last shuttle service will run at approximately 3 pm.
Short films
Each of the Boroondara Seniors Film Festival cinema events screens a selection of curated films from filmmakers around the world.
A handful of the other wonderful short films we have received from our community can also be viewed online until Thursday 31 October.
