We offer a range of different classes to help you keep independent and healthy. Have a confidential chat with our staff to discuss your goals so we can assist you in finding a class that will best fit you. Your first session at Balwyn Evergreen Centre is free.

BASScare have a range of exercise classes to suit your needs and activity levels from novice chair-based exercises to energetic strength and balance classes.

Interested in studying philosophy, world cultures or history? Like to keep up with current affairs and discuss politics? U3A Deepdene offers over 70 courses and activities. Becoming a member is a great way to stimulate the mind and meet new people.

BASScare’s Falls Prevention program is a research based exercise and educational program targeting reducing your risk of falls. The program aims to improve your balance, strength and confidence. Weekly classes are complimented by home exercises and educational seminars all designed to help you maintain your health, happiness and independence.

As a Boroondara library member, you have free access to a wide variety of films and music through streaming services. This allows you to play movies and songs on a phone, tablet, computer, or television screen using a casting service or HDMI cable. If you're not already a member of the Boroondara Library Service you can join online.

A monthly social club dedicated to all things gardening.

Enjoy guest speakers, exchange plants or seeds and chat with fellow gardeners over afternoon tea. Beginners to experienced green thumbs welcome.

Tea and coffee facilities are provided.

A fun and engaging introduction to the German language. Class covers reading, writing, conversation and grammar, as well as German culture and travel. Requires 2 years of practice.

Deutscher Seniorenclub: Deutschsprachige Senioren treffen sich zum Mittagessen, Bingo, Kino, Gastsprecher, Kurzgeschichten und Gedichtlesungen. Es gibt deutsche Volkslieder, Geburtstags- und Weihnachtsfeiern und Besuche von Ausstellungen, Sehenswürdigkeiten, Restaurants sowie Busreisen.

German speaking seniors get together for lunch, bingo, movies, guest speakers, short stories and poem readings. German folk singing, birthday and Christmas celebrations. Visits to exhibitions, places of interest, restaurants and bus trips. Every Sunday from 11 am to 1 pm. Every second Tuesday from 10 am to 3 pm. Cost: please contact the club for details.
