Activities for over 55s

As a Boroondara library member, you have free access to a wide variety of films and music through streaming services. This allows you to play movies and songs on a phone, tablet, computer, or television screen using a casting service or HDMI cable. If you're not already a member of the Boroondara Library Service you can join online.

Come and try one of our life drawing, painting or portraiture sessions. We have a range of tutored and untutored classes, for beginners and advanced artists. A full timetable of day and evening sessions is available on the website.

Hawthorn Rowing Club welcomes newcomers to our volunteer-based community club, home to the renowned Head of the Yarra regatta. Members range from 13 to 83, encompassing all levels of experience. What is common is the friendship and dedication built around a passion for rowing.

I run a laughter club session with warming up stretches, laughter yoga exercises and a meditation every Saturday from 9.30am to 10.15am at Petri Square, Kew and every Monday on Zoom from 7pm to 7.30pm to promote laughter for health, happiness, wellbeing and community bonding.

The club provides members (males and females) with the opportunity to compete in the game of lawn bowls at all competitive levels. It also provides social bowls and events to those that prefer the less competitive environment. Indoor Bias Carpet Bowls are played in the winter months. Booking required - please contact us to book.
