About the citation

Council engaged GML Heritage consultants to prepare a heritage citation for the property at 508-510 Burke Road in Camberwell.

The draft heritage citation is now completed and identifies that the property is of local and individual heritage significance. The property is recommended for inclusion in the Heritage Overlay under the Boroondara Planning Scheme.

Current status (March 2024)

On Monday 4 March 2024, the Urban Planning Delegated Committee (UPDC) considered a report on the outcomes of the preliminary consultation process on the heritage citation for 508-510 Burke Road, Camberwell.

At the meeting, the UPDC resolved to:

  • adopt the citation without changes in response to the feedback received, as recommended by Council officers
  • start the formal planning scheme amendment process to introduce the proposed changes into the Boroondara Planning Scheme.

Council officers will now seek authorisation from the Minister for Planning to prepare and exhibit a planning scheme amendment to introduce the proposed changes.

There will be a further opportunity to have your say during the exhibition stage of the amendment process, and further updates and information will be provided as required.
