It’s time to make, mend… and swap

Our ‘Make, Mend, Do: crafting a circular economy’ program kicks off in October, with activities and events including sustainable gift wrapping, papier-mache jewellery making and a Fashion Reimagined cinema session. You can also swap yourself a new wardrobe at the Boroondara Clothes Swap at Hawthorn Arts Centre on Saturday 14 October.

What’s happening at Boroondara Arts

Step up to Kew Court House for a Saturday evening of re-imagined Bowie tunes from local artist Adam Rudegeair, or a Morning Music strings performance from Invictus Quartet at Hawthorn Arts Centre. Our Boroondara Eisteddfod Piano Concerto Final on 10 September will showcase 3 virtuosic young pianists, backed by the Camerata Orchestra, playing Romantic overtures and piano concerto favourites.

Major exhibition The Memory Palace, by Cyrus Tang, brings together highlights from a 20-year career examining sentiments of nostalgia within memory and fantasy. Community exhibition When a Moment Becomes a Memory features artworks inspired by lived experiences of the Holocaust, and 4 artists explore the human psyche, and how artmaking can benefit physical disabilities and mental health, in Healing.
