Fitness workouts, menopause information sessions and an expert’s secrets for healthy ageing are on the calendar for Women’s Health Week and beyond.

We’re asking 52% of the Boroondara population to put their most important asset – their health – first this Women’s Health Week (Monday 4 to Friday 8 September).

Join us at a line-up of free events that will keep you informed and leave you inspired to prioritise your wellbeing.

Secrets of Women’s Healthy Ageing

Professor Cassandra Szoeke, director of the Women’s Healthy Ageing Project at the University of Melbourne, will share practical tips and advice to help women optimise their health and quality of life as they age. This is a City of Boroondara Wellbeing Conversation for Women’s Health Week.

When: Thursday 7 September, 7 pm to 8 pm at the Hawthorn Library 

Youth Hub exercise sessions

Free boxing and yoga sessions at the Boroondara Youth Hub in Hawthorn.

  • Boxing (open to young women in high school): Tuesday 5 September, 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm
  • Yoga (open to young women aged 18 to 25): Thursday 7 September, 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm

Tai chi in the park 

A free fitness and mindfulness tai chi class in Victoria Park in Kew, open to all. 

When: Thursday 7 September, 10 am to 11 am

Boroondara menopause series

Experts speak on menopause-related topics including nutrition, sleep and exercise on various dates in September, October and November. All events are free and held at either Boroondara Libraries or online.
