Libraries open late for exam study sessions

A library in Boroondara

Are you or is someone you know studying for end-of-year exams? October is a busy month for many young people, including those about to tackle their final VCE exams. To make studying a little easier, Balwyn, Camberwell and Hawthorn libraries will be open late this October – with free snacks available to help with your studying.

From Tuesday 17 to Thursday 19 October, and Tuesday 24 to Thursday 26 October the 3 libraries will remain open until 9 pm, to support our students preparing for exams. As always, our expert librarians will be on hand to help with research and resources.

Tips to maximise your study

Here are our library staff’s top tips for making the most of your study sessions:

  • Keep your devices charged. Power points are located throughout library branches, especially in dedicated study areas, to help you keep laptops and devices powered up.
  • Make use of the free Wi-Fi at library branches, available with your library membership.
  • Bring a study buddy to keep you motivated. Some of our libraries have bookable study rooms for groups, with tables and chairs for students wanting to work together. To book a study room, visit the library website or ask a library staff member what areas are available.
  • Put your phone out of sight. This part is up to you. Keeping distractions at bay can help you focus on your studies.
  • And please remember that our friendly staff are always available to answer your queries.
