We have a new Library Lounge where you can relax, study, read or work in the heart of Hawthorn. Come explore the space inside Hawthorn Arts Centre and make it your own this year.

You’re welcome to bring your own devices, food and drink into the lounge. There’s also free wi-fi and plenty of space for charging. Set up at the big communal table or our smaller tables.

Check out the books …

It wouldn’t be a library space without some great reading on offer. Our librarians have chosen popular art books to display as well as a range of new fiction books.

Find a real page-turner? Library members can borrow any books on display using the self-service kiosk. It’s free to join the library so if you haven’t already, take a short 5-minute walk from Hawthorn Arts Centre to Hawthorn Library to become a member.

… and the art

You’ll also find some intriguing artworks in the lounge. They’re chosen by our curators and include highlights from the Town Hall Gallery Collection. And you’ll be close to our free major and community exhibitions running at Hawthorn Arts Centre all year.

The Library Lounge is a space for everyone. It’s open Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm at the Hawthorn Arts Centre. Enter the main doors on Burwood Road and head right, to the corner of the building.
