Celebrate at a community event

Come along on Wednesday 15 May to Hawthorn Arts Centre to our ‘Making a more inclusive Boroondara' event.

Hear from keynote speaker Mel Spencer OAM and see beautiful artworks created by artists with disability from QArt Gallery and Studio in Kew. You can also hear the stories of their creations from QArt artists and representatives attending.

Partnering with QArt

In December 2023, Council adopted the Disability Access and Inclusion Plan 2024-2028

Our sixth action plan details our ongoing commitment to take action and make Boroondara more inclusive and accessible for people with disability.

We commissioned QArt to create artworks for our plan. Thirteen bright and beautiful artworks are featured in the plan.

Following the Making a More Inclusive Boroondara event on 15 May, the artworks will be on display at the Boroondara Civic Centre in Camberwell. Enter the centre from Inglesby Road and look for the corridor leading to the interior Camberwell Library entrance. The works will be on display in the corridor from Friday 17 May until Friday 28 June.

Find out more about our partnership with QArt and the meaning behind the beautiful artworks created on the Coming together as one: Art of inclusivity page.
