St James Park is suitable for small celebrations, weddings, picnics and children's play.

It features pristine lawns and beautiful tree-lined paths, with a war memorial as its centrepiece.

There is also a playground with a spiral ladder, chain bridge, flying fox and monkey bars.

You can book a grass area in the park for your exclusive use.

We require between 5 full business days and 8 weeks' notice, depending on your booking.

You can apply to bring:

  • up to 10 chairs and 2 tables for events. 

You can't bring a marquee, arbour or other shade structure.

There is limited street parking on Wood Street and Denham Street. The park is 450 m away from Hawthorn train station.

April to October: 8 am to 6 pm.

November to March: 8 am to 8:30 pm.
