Read Gardens is a lovely spot for small weddings, picnics, social gatherings and other celebrations.

Before you book
You can book an area in the gardens for your exclusive use.

We require at least 5 full business days notice.

You can apply to bring up: 
– to 20 chairs and 2 tables for events. 

No marquees or other shade structures are permitted at this space.

Public facilities are free for all garden area visitors to use. They are not included as part of a booking.

There are no public toilets at Read Gardens.

Up to: 80 people

Parking and transport

The venue is 400 m from East Camberwell train station and 500 m from Camberwell train station. It is around 6 minutes' walk from the number 72 tram stop.

Booking times

7 days including public holidays.

April to October: 8 am to 6 pm.

November to March: 8 am to 8:30 pm.
