Get ready, Boroondara! The highly anticipated Summer in the Park 2025 festival is here and it’s bigger than ever.
This year’s Summer in the Park line-up is packed with fantastic arts and entertainment events taking place on weekends through February and the start of March.
Every single performance is completely free with no bookings, tickets or reservations needed. Just pack a picnic and join us at the brand-new Festival Hub and Main Stage events.
Festival Hub performances
Our Festival Hub is the centre of this year’s Summer in the Park festival, located at the wonderful Maranoa Botanic Gardens in Balwyn.
Featuring a line-up of 12 performances and over 40 artists, we’ll kick off the festival here at the Cabaret Launch Party. With a bar and food at the Festival Hub available for all Summer in the Park events, prepare to kick back, relax and soak up performances including:
- Launch Cabaret Party on Saturday 1 February
- Guzheng in the Hub on Sunday 2 February
- Comedy in the Hub on Friday 7 February
- Bollywood in the Hub on Saturday 8 February
- Musical in the Hub on Sunday 9 February (2 performances)
- Club Valentine on Friday 14 February
- Classical in the Hub on Saturday 15 February
- Singalong in the Hub on Sunday 16 February
- Latin in the Hub on Friday 21 February
- Pirritu in the Hub on Saturday 22 February
- Broadway in the Hub on Friday 28 February
Main Stage events series
The Main Stage lineup just about guarantees a little something for everyone at this year’s Summer in the Park festival. Set in a variety of outstanding parks and gardens, you’ll find something to groove, swing and chill out to at our Main Stage events.
Here’s a flavour of what to expect and where as part of Main Stage performances:
- Youth Takeover event on Saturday 8 February at St James Park
- Jazz in the Park on Saturday 8 February at St James Park
- Mamma Mia the movie musical on Friday 14 February at St James Park
- Boroondara Seniors Film Festival highlights on Saturday 15 February at Riversdale Park
- School of Rock, starring Jack Black, on Saturday 15 February at Riversdale Park
- Moana, a modern Disney classic, on Sunday 16 February at Riversdale Park
- Opera in the Park on Saturday 1 March at Canterbury Gardens

Weather conditions
Although we’re forecast to get hot weather over the coming months, Summer in the Park will still go ahead if the weather cools down or gets a bit wet.
Event(s) may be cancelled for safety reasons if there is heavy rain or storms.
Unfortunately, we are not able to reschedule cancelled events.
