Event details
Carols in the Park has always been one of the signature events of Boroondara Council at Christmas time.
Since 1987, the annual event has appealed to all ages, cultural backgrounds, economic and health status in the community.
It’s free to attend and draws people together to sing in the park. The social interactions and connections that are formed increase a sense of community and minimise isolation. Outdoors and fresh air help people feel better physically and mentally. Residents can appreciate the open spaces and public amenities in a safe, alcohol-free environment.
The event usually has great singers, along with bands and choirs. Kids’ activities start the evening with a family picnic including sausage sizzle, and of course, a visit from Santa. The carols program has many songs and solos about Jesus’ birth and ends with a fireworks show.
Donations made at the event are directed to local charities.
