Event details
The Ashburton Community Festival unites the Ashburton Traders, local community organisations and local residents. The aim of the festival is to strengthen the connection between people, the local community and the Ashburton retail precinct. This encourages community life, health and wellbeing of those participating and attending, giving them a sense of belonging, purpose and connection to Ashburton.
The annual festival is set up in a closed-off High Street, Ashburton and it includes:
- rides
- community organisations with interactive activities
- traders selling goods and food
- a beer garden and dining area
- roving entertainers
- an animal farm and reptile encounter
- Ashburton's Got Talent with a $2,000 prize pool, generously donated by Ashburton Community Bank
- a Yacht Rock Revival on the main stage from 4 to 6 pm.

The festival provides an opportunity to perform, engage, showcase and promote businesses and organisations to people living in the area.
