Probus Club of North Balwyn Days: Tuesday Location: Trentwood at the Hub, 2 Centre Way Balwyn North Our club conducts Special Interest Groups (SIG’s) on topics ranging from bridge, heritage/genealogy, computer, investment, photography, to woodcraft as well as having walking groups, golf, dining out, lunch and chat, theatre and travel outings. Deepdene Combined Probus Club Days: Monday Price: Free We are a club that provides friendship and a range of activities suited to older people who want to join in social activities and meet new friends. We are a small club with a current membership of 32 that we are seeking to increase by about 50%. Being small we have far more interaction between members than in the large Probus Clubs and despite our size, several very active interest groups. Except for December, our meetings are held on the third Monday of the month from 10 am to 12 pm and usually include an interesting Speaker, followed by an optional lunch at a nearby cafe. Other activities and outings include local and longer excursions to places of interest, book club, walks, and cinema, theatre and craft groups. At least 2 “special” lunches are held during the year. Membership costs are currently $70 pa, plus a $15 joining fee. Balwyn Mens Probus Club Days: Wednesday Balwyn Mens Probus Club provides a wide range of activities for retired men in Boroondara. These activities include: Walking Group/Discussion Group/Tek Talk Investment Group/Discussion Group/Discovery Tour Coffee and Cake/Monthly Lunch/Writing Group Ukulele /Musical Appreciation Event Membership is complimentary for two months, then $65pa with no joining fee. The trips include visits to places of interest, lunch and, in some cases, opportunities to do some shopping. The trips are on the last Wednesday of the month in February, May, August and November.
