Charging locations
We have 2 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations for Boroondara residents and visitors to use at:
- Hawthorn Aquatic and Leisure Centre at 1 Grace Street, Hawthorn
- Burwood Village car park at 238A Warrigal Road, Camberwell.
The EV chargers provide up to one hour of fast and reliable charging. They're available to all EV makes and models (AC and DC power) and are powered by 100% renewable electricity.
Access charging with Chargefox
To use our charging stations, you'll need to set up a Chargefox account and use the Chargefox app.
Chargefox lets you:
- get real-time alerts on your car charger status
- pay for the time you charge your car
- find charger stations and view real-time availability
- view the cost of using a charging station.

Parking in EV charging bays
EV parking spaces have the same parking rules or time limits that are specified on parking signs.
Check the signs near your parking space so that you know:
- the time limit for your space
- whether you need to display a ticket on your dashboard
- whether you need to pay for the time you're parked.

More EV chargers are on the way
EV charging stations are being delivered as an action from our Climate Action Plan Implementation Plan, which commits us to making charging stations available within a 2 km radius of major activity centres by 2030.
