We have renewed the local playground at Grovedale Park in Surrey Hills to improve the play experience for all children.

Project status

The new playground is complete. It was reopened to the public in October 2023.

Community consultation

We asked our community for feedback to help guide the renewal of the playground. We received responses from community members (including children) over 2 stages of consultation.

You can find out what our community told us, how their feedback shaped the final design, and view the final design on our Engage Boroondara Grovedale Park playground renewal consultation page

About the project

The new playground blends in with the natural landscape with its predominantly green and timber colour scheme. The key features of the new playground include:
•    a new seating area
•    a new basket swing
•    trees and plantings we chose for their connection to the area
•    a new play structure and climbing cube with monkey bars
•    updated blueberry spinner and existing swings
•    an accessible path into and around the playground.

See below images of the new playground.
