Brrr-ing on the fun these winter school holidays
We have an exciting, creative and low-cost school-holiday program to keep children and young people engaged over the winter break.
Children can:
- take their bike or scooter for a spin around Kew Traffic School
- create their own superhero at Hawthorn Arts Centre
- participate in a Nintendo Smash Bros competition at the Boroondara Youth Hub
- bring their dancing shoes to a performance of Charlie Needs Braces.

Local businesses and not-for-profits come together
Are you a local business owner or not-for-profit based in Boroondara? You're invited to the Boroondara Equation networking event on Wednesday 21 June.
Join us to hear from the experts and meet people from like-minded organisations to explore partnerships and opportunities to work together.
Our keynote speaker is Nick Pearson, co-founder and CEO of HoMie, a Melbourne-based clothing brand that provides clothing, training and job opportunities for people affected by homelessness or hardship. Nick will be joined by a panel of 4 local businesses and not-for-profits who will also share their experiences and advice.

What’s happening at Boroondara Arts
Roll up for a Friday evening of swinging jazz with the brilliant James Morrison at Hawthorn Arts Centre, or take in acclaimed The Deans of Soul (pictured above) at Kew Court House. And here’s one for the littlies … bring your dancing shoes for family show Charlie Needs Braces, from Charlie Woods, proud GuriNgai woman of the Garigal clam and Wannangine Nation.
Boroondara Youth Hub supports Pride Month by hosting an exhibition at the Gallery of Young Art (GoYA) throughout June. New community show A Sense of Place by Caroline Calway bears witness to Dalmanyi (Bell Gorge) in Western Australia’s Kimberley region, while in From Nature, Michael Adeney and Ravi Tidhar borrow from the natural environment to create their work.
