Through exquisite depth and imagination, each artist invites consideration of our role within, not apart from, the natural world. Featuring: Matt Arbuckle, Wona Bae and Charlie Lawler, Tamara Dean, Brian Robinson, Annika Romeyn, Hiromi Tango, and James Tylor. ‘On Whose Shoulders I Stand’ by Susie Raz‘On Whose Shoulders I Stand’ is a heartfelt homage to the overlooked women of Australian modernism, brought to life through Susie Raz’s vivid, large-scale self-portraits. Each painting is also a performance, where Raz embodies the struggles and triumphs of 20th-century female artists, creating an intimate dialogue across time that bridges their stories with her own. This project sheds light on the systemic erasure of women from art history while serving as a transformative journey for Raz. By painting herself into these narratives, she claims space alongside these women, confronting and transcending her inherited self-doubt as an artist. ‘Welcome to My World’ by Joshua Romas‘Welcome to My World’ is a vibrant and heartfelt community exhibition by Joshua Romas, a young artist living with disability. This exhibition invites you to experience Romas’ unique perspective through his abstract paintings, rich with shapes and iconography that capture his joy and passions. Whether it's visiting local cafes, watching concrete mixers, spending time with family, or enjoying a rollercoaster ride, each piece reflects the activities that bring him happiness. Romas’ art is more than just colour on canvas; each piece is a window into his unique perspective, celebrating the joy and inspiration he derives from everyday experiences.Accessibility at this spaceAccessibility features include: accessible car parkingaccessible drop-off areaautomatic doorsaccessible toiletsrampsclear signageliftsquiet areaswide passageways.Image credit: Visitors at the official opening of ‘Aspects of Abstraction: Charles Nodrum Collection’, Town Hall Gallery, 2024. About the exhibitions

'Seasonal Shifts'

Tracing the rhythms of life, memory, identity and human influence on the environment, ‘Seasonal Shifts’ is a group exhibition presenting artists whose works unveil our multifaceted relationship with the passage of time and our natural surroundings.

‘Seasonal Shifts’ reflects how we experience nature in cycles—its transformations marking time and seasons, anchoring memories, and stirring metaphors that deepen our sense of self.

‘On Whose Shoulders I Stand’ by Susie Raz

‘On Whose Shoulders I Stand’ is a heartfelt homage to the overlooked women of Australian modernism, brought to life through Susie Raz’s vivid, large-scale self-portraits.

‘Welcome to My World’ by Joshua Romas

‘Welcome to My World’ is a vibrant and heartfelt community exhibition by Joshua Romas, a young artist living with disability.

Romas’ art is more than just colour on canvas; each piece is a window into his unique perspective, celebrating the joy and inspiration he derives from everyday experiences.
