About Ally Row
Gunaikurnai/Gippsland-based folk-rock/alt-country duo Ally Row has come a long way since their humble beginnings in mid-2021. Their big break came fast, winning The Tablelands Folk Festival Songwriting Contest with Bare Feet and a radio competition weeks later with Struggling to Breathe, and since then winners of the Triple J Unearthed NYE on the Hill Fest Competition and the Port Fairy Folk Festival Busking Competition.
Drawing inspiration from Mumford & Sons, Of Monsters & Men, Sons of The East and The 502s, Ally Row blends toe-tapping energy with raw emotion. Armed with velvety harmonies, guitar, piano, modernized banjo, harmonica and stomp box, their dynamic sound breaks genre barriers and brings audiences to their feet. They’ve shared the stage with Golden Guitar winner Fanny Lumsden, folk legend Kim Churchill and ARIA winner William Crighton and have been fixtures on the Australian festival circuit.
