Bach, Beethoven, Handel, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Tippett, Ethel Smyth, Vivaldi and more.2024 marks 80 years of uninterrupted music-making by the Camberwell Chorale, a wonderful achievement that’s a tribute to the commitment of its choristers past and present, and to the talent and energy of two remarkable men who have guided the Chorale’s fortunes since its inception in 1944. The Camberwell Chorale is celebrating its 80th Anniversary with a concert conducted by Douglas Heywood OAM who celebrates 50 years as their Music Director.

The 100-voice Camberwell Chorale is joined by 8 soloists who are well known to Melbourne audiences:

  • Mezzo-Soprano, Kerrie Bolton
  • Countertenor, Hamish Gould
  • Tenors, Christopher Busietta and Michael Lapina
  • Basses, Jerzy Kozlowski and Manfred Pohlenz.
