Led by a local spider expert, you’ll learn about the amazing world of spiders that call the Billabong home. You will have an opportunity to be a citizen scientist by safely photographing and recording their spider sightings in support of the Great Southern Bioblitz. Children will need to be accompanied by an adult to attend.We are teaming up with councils across Greater Melbourne to participate in the Great Southern Bioblitz to showcase our beautiful biodiversity to the world, while collecting valuable research data. The 2024 Great Southern Bioblitz is running from Friday 20 September to Monday 23 September.We encourage you to download the free iNaturalist app prior to the event so that you can record your sightings and contribute data to this global citizen science challenge, but this is not essential. Help us collect valuable data for the Great Southern Bioblitz! Led by a local spider expert, you’ll learn about the amazing world of spiders that call the Billabong home.
