Event details
Skunkworks Community is thrilled to announce the 2024 Victorian Youth Band Festival, a spectacular celebration of young musical talent from across the state.
This year’s festival promises to be an unforgettable experience, featuring performances from some of Victoria’s finest youth bands.
In addition to the youth band performances, attendees will have the unique opportunity to participate in workshops led by renowned musicians from the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, including Owen Morris (trumpet), Richard Shirley (trombone), Abbey Edlin (horn), and Tim Buzbee (tuba) as well as members of the Royal Australian Navy Band, including James Blackford (euphonium) and Campbell Phillips from D2.
These sessions are designed to inspire and educate the next generation of musicians, offering hands-on experience with some of Australia’s leading instrumentalists.
Even if your band is not participating in the festival, you may purchase a master class ticket to participate in the master class of your choice.
“We are incredibly excited to bring together such a diverse and talented group of young musicians,” said Phillipa Edwards, co-director at Skunkworks Community. “The Victorian Youth Band Festival is not just a showcase of talent, but a platform for learning, collaboration, and the celebration of music.”
