Sport and leisure
We offer many leisure and recreation facilities - swimming centres, sportsgrounds and a golf course.
Management of these facilities is undertaken by a combination of Council staff, contractors or volunteer groups and associations.

Freeway Golf Course
The Freeway Golf Course offers a challenging 18-hole layout suitable for golfers playing at all levels from beginner to advanced. The course is located in picturesque parkland along the Yarra River with undulating couch grass fairways and small challenging greens. It is open from dawn until dusk every day, except Christmas Day.

Junction Skate and BMX Park
387 Riversdale Road, Hawthorn East
Melway 59 H1
Junction Skate and BMX Park, is a world-class skate facility that was opened in November 2000 and attracts boarders, bladers and bikers from all over Melbourne.
The park is Melbourne's only skate facility with double spine bowls and a street course.
The facility opens from dawn until dusk and is supervised by YMCA staff for two hours after school and between 11am and 4pm on weekends and school holidays.
Junction Skate Park is located 500m west of Camberwell Junction.
Public transport access:
- tram 70 or 75 to stop 38 (Hastings Street).
